In the United States at this time is a political hot spot. With the recent hurricane devastation and that which is about to hit Florida later this day that I'm writing such catastrophies add to the rhetoric. But a huge part of what takes place is finding cause, especially with video prevalent today of what an opposing party may find in thousands of files available. And the potentially embarassed party may say, Move along, nothing to see here. But cover ups aren't anything new. Some kids in school try to find way to cover up the fact that they are trying a new way to cheat on a test. A driver may try to hide the fact they are drinking or taking or doing something that may impair their ability to drive safely. Even in the work place workers may be asked to falsify documents as I was told to do. (I didn't do it, but did report it.) The bottom line is that people don't want others, or anyone to see where and what they have done wrong. It may cost a grade, a friendship, a marriage, a good job, integrity in a high profile job, even the presidency. So the desire by some is to just say, move along, there's nothing to see here.
Psalms 117 is the shortest chapter in the Word of God. Some may think that because it is small that it is insignificant. Some might even say, Move along, there's nothing to see here. But as often is the case there's huge truth in what some may want covered up about their lives or what they've done. Some may want to avoid or bypass the short chapter. So don't just read quickly through these two verses anymore than you might John 3:16-17. There is much to see here.
All nations, praise ye the Lord: all ye people, praise him. For his loving kindnes is great toward us, and the truth of the Lord endureth for ever. Praise ye the Lord.
Psalms 117:1-2 GNV
Interesting enough similar to John 3:16-17 this isn't only focused on God's chosen nation of people or God's redeemed people. No, this is a call to ALL nations, ALL people, ALL inclusive. And why? Again another similitude is seen because of God's loving kindness. But bringing to a complete thought here is that the Lord's truth endures forever. The only difference in John 3:16 is that the ones who believe in Him has life forever as result of His truth that endures forever.
So please do not move along! There is life eternal to see here. As is said three times in two verses, Praise Ye The Lord!
For God so loved the world, that he hath given his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him, should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world, that he should condemn the world, but that the world through him might be saved.
John 3:16-17 GNV
